Howdy guys. I was wondering if the Kitfox STI is suited for tall fellows like myself. I'm really interested in purchasing one, but I have never actually seen one in person, let alone sat in one. I am 6' 4" and have pretty long legs, so I was curious if anyone has any personal experience with this aircraft or advice for me. I think the plane looks awesome so I just thought I'd ask the question to see what you guys had to say. Thanks for the help!

Because there are many variables, the only way to really know is to sit in one yourself. There are guys that have long legs and a shorter torso and those with a long torso and shorter legs. Seat cushions can be of different thicknesses and foam types. Rudder pedals can be adjustable or not. I'm 6'2 and have a 34" inseam and 200lbs. I feel like I have room enough and could be taller in my torso and still clear the overhead tubing. Leg room might get a little iffy if you are more than 36" inseam. Just my thoughts, I think a 6'4" pilot could enjoy a Kitfox 5,6, or 7. There's really not a better way to measure the fit than to try it on. And, I suggest you ride around a while too to see if the comfort will be there after an hour.

Where are you located? That will help you find a ride if someone lives nearby. Offer to buy them some gas and a hamburger. ;)

That sounds like good advice! Thanks! I’m from southeast Nebraska. We’ve got plenty of good burgers around!

Refer to my post #875 dated 7-5-2019. It is a Pic of someone 6'3". Agree, you should try it on.

Remember that all Kitfox 7's (5 & 6 also) have the same fuselage/cockpit. As John McBean has referred to the differences between the SS7, STi and Speedster is the trim package.

For some reason, I can't find the picture.

I’m 6’4” …….37” inseam and my model IV fits perfectly. Rudder petals all the way out. 12 years….still quite comfortable.
