Hello everyone, my name is Robert and I just purchased a KitFox IV 1050 which had been in storage unbuilt since 91. This will be my first kit plane. I have no previous build experience so this will be a big challenge for me and will definitely be reaching out for advice and how to’s. I’m really looking forward to the build and all the adventures that I’m sure this plane will bring.

If you don't know the answer, it's not a stupid question.:) Feel free to ask when you are wondering about something, and probably someone here has the answer. Welcome to the group. And pictures, we love pictures. JImChuk

Been super busy at work but finally here are some shots of Lucky in the trailer and then in her new home! Their’s a lot of work to be done, but looking forward to it.

Man, someone spent some time figuring out how to crate all those parts.

Onward! Let's see some build progress.

Am I missing something here? The seat tunnel doesn't seem to be large enough to allow for clearance of the control rods. The seat won't rest on the upper cross bar as it should because of this.

I will have to check mine bit I think the rods have to be bent for clearance.

I have a Kitfox model 3 from that era. In this picture you can see the bend in the pushrods so that they are below the seat and operate without interference. The "tunnel" in the seat is not there for the pushrods to fit into.

To keep the seat from sitting too low due to issues with the seat attachment, the two straps are to keep the seat from dropping onto the control pushrods.

Awe ok, thank you for the reply. I guess I’ll tweak them so they don’t rub.
