I'm looking for the commercial part number for the cable bushing retaining washers used in this diagram (Kitfox P/N 82050.000). They're 3/16" ID x 5/8" OD. Mine are too corroded to use, but I can't find a match at Spruce. Alternatively, can anyone argue against using AN970 washers instead? I have plenty of those.

I would think that AN970-3 would be fine, Eric, if it doesn't have a conflict with the Nicopress sleeve. If it does then you should use a washer with the specified 5/8" OD. I believe that a 970-3 has a 7/8" OD. One possible option would be to get a hardware store washer with the proper OD (maybe for a #8 screw?) and drill it out to 3/16".

Ah, good idea. Get a smaller size fender washer and enlarge the ID. Could to the same thing with a smaller AN970. Thanks.

EDIT 1: Nope, the smallest AN970 is the -3, at 7/8" OD, so it'll have to be a fender washer.

EDIT 2: It looks like #6 fender washers are 5/8" OD, and available in stainless steel.

Yeah, I looked there just to see if the part exists. No luck on the exact washer supplied by Kitfox, but they do have stainless steel #6 fender washers with 5/8" OD.

McMaster-Carr is an impressive operation, but I really don't like buying from them. You have no idea what you're going to pay for shipping until after your order is shipped and you get a surprise on the invoice. I can understand that policy for odd-ball stuff that ships via motor freight, but there's no excuse for it on 99% of their inventory.

Fortunately, the same washers are listed on Amazon and eBay for $1 more with free shipping.

We use McMaster all the time and enjoy FREE next day shipping.

We always look at metric equivalents if no joy on SAE.

Is "we" a business or personal account? If they've started offering free next day shipping, they sure do a poor job advertising it. The checkout process just has a notice to the effect that shipping charges and tax will be added to your order.

That’s been exactly my experience also Eric.
