Series 5 Vixen dorsal fin

I do not like the idea of attaching the sheet aluminum dorsal fin over the fabric on the Series 5 Vixen. Has anyone experimented with making a dorsal fin that fits under the fabric (or just not fitting a dorsal fin at all)? Aesthetically, I would prefer to have a dorsal fin with a smoother contour than the factory sheet metal piece, which to me looks like an afterthought.

There have been some builders who have added the razor back (like the series 7 has) to their series 5 aircraft. I've seen some where they welded in 4130 tube and others who have used aluminum tube and bonded it in with Hysol.

I don't see why that couldn't be done with a Vixen.

This was easy to do. The vixen has a different countour but you could easily do something similar.
