The forward spar sticks out 1/2" past the end of the #10 rib. The wing tip in order to fit flush against the #10 spar either has to be over the forward spar and leading edge or something has to be notched. Looking for ideas as to what others have done.

Sorry about the sideways pics. I tried to turn them, but nothing works on orienting them correctly.

trim the spar off at the rib. That 1/2" of tube sticking out the end of the wing is doing nothing.

That's what I did. Just got as close to the rib as I dared. Worked out fine.

I think I set the photos right way up.

Thank you.

I am not sure why they are always sideways. The pics below, I saved upside down on my computer for them to show up right side up here. Kind of crazy.....

In case anyone is interested, I went ahead and notched the end of the spar in the area where the wingtip cuts through. I also left a small bit of the leading edge to support the lead edge of the wingtip.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Hi Jerry,
When I was building my wings I had the same issue as your having with the flush fit of the wing tip.
Anyway, I also made room for tucking/folding in the fabric as it folds over the spar area.

That makes sense. Would be easier just to remove the entire center piece completely. Especially like you mentioned, when it comes time for covering.

Thanks again.

This is what I am thinking (or what I done )

Another idea, stops the wind from flowing in between wing tip and spar space.
