Anyone else notice this? Both of our G3x traffic target trend vectors are off. We are running 8.71 version. Trend barb is always showing the wrong direction. If you touch the traffic it does tell you the correct course they are tracking but the target trend is always off to the side? Sorry the screen looks really dirty.

Those are Garmin's "Relative" ( vs. Absolute) trend vectors. It's your track- plus their track. It's more useful than the regular absolute track since you are moving too and really care about you movement and the traffic movement combined.

We must have some setting messed up. Flying headon towards my brother the target trend shows him 90degrees off to the left and I showed 90 degrees off to his left flying head-on 10 miles away.

In the photo you posted, the system looks okay to me.

N53TF is about 4mi back almost directly at you 6 o'clock- but with a ground track slightly to your right. But since you and he are nearly the same speed (in fact you are slightly faster) the trend line is behind him. "Relatively" speaking, as time goes on he'll move along that line when viewed from your position.

On the other hand, that traffic ending in "9D" up ahead is going to pass about 2mi ahead of you and you closure on him is making the spacing between you and him a little worse.

Oh makes sense now. I was thinking this is the predictive track ”trend”. Garmin is using a different philosophy than foreflight. Thanks

So N6334P is basically traveling the same speed (climbing) and almost tracking the same course as me but with a course that is only slight increasing in distant to the right of me or increasing the spacing just slightly?
