Hi all,
I've been doing my research regarding replacing my Warp Drive and I contacted Ivo Prop with my build and they promptly replied with;

"We will not be putting anymore Ivoprops on
Lycoming powered aircraft due to vibration.

Regards"

I've not seen this anywhere and was surprised. Has anyone had any issues flying with an Ivo Prop with a Lycoming? - Mark

I know personally of others who have tried them on Lyc O-320's & O-360's (not on Kitfoxes) resulting in prop damage or failure. This was years ago, and I don't know if this info is applicable to the current Warp Drive props or not.

There are far better props available than IVO these days.

Please share your opinion of which brands are better. I have an S7 with a Lycoming O-235 and would like it to perform optimally for STOL operations, I'm not concerned about cruise speed. My home airport is at 7000 feet in case that is pertinent.

So if you have any preferences, I'd be very interested. - Mark

Catto is definitely one brand to consider. They will match it to your airplane/cruise speed, engine/HP and desired performance. I got one for Continental IO-240 and and very happy with its performance.

I've emailed them a few times this week but they havent called me back. I've heard good things, but I need to get them on the phone. I'll try again next week. - Mark

I’m a Rotax guy, so I can’t speak directly to the Lycoming and Continental engines.

Catto is popular as is Prince and Sterna with the cub guys. IVO and Warp were old reliables for many years. Neither have seemed to keep up with advances and more efficient designs.

I’m running a Whirlwind GA200 STOL prop and couldn’t be happier with it. At 14 degrees pitch I’m seeing 1500-2000 ft/min and am seeing straight and level airspeed of 110 mph.

Is this a 72 arc? What engine is in the plane? Thanks - Mark

I'm running an 80" prop on an IO340. Give Whirlwind a call and talk to them. I'm sure they have a solution that would work for you.
Nice thing about the Whirlwind is that they are ground adjustable. The Cattos are nice but you best get it right the first time. I think they will change the pitch once after you receive it.
