Hi friends new Teamkitfox. Recently bought a partially built Classic IV-1200. Just noticed that the mounting tabs for the struts of the horizontal stabilizers are missing. Can somebody tell me if these parts are available from Kitfox or I have to make them myself? Thanks

Call Debra or Heather at the Kitfox mother ship at (208) 337-5111. They should be able to take care of you.
Also, welcome to the forum!

They are just square tabs about 0.090" thick and about 1/2" x 1/2" with a 3/16" hole for an AN3 bolt

Thanks John.
I see from the manual that they are in an angle, not straight out of fuselage, also there is a hole in the fuselage where they are suppose to go. Do I have to solder a bolt to the tabs so I can attach them to fuselage?

I'm not able to do it right now but this evening I can measure the tabs to get you specific dimensions and take a picture of their location. The airplane I have in my barn is a Kitfox 4 Speedster but I would think it is the same as yours but maybe someone else knows for sure.

I measured the tab and it is 3/4" x 3/4" and I measured the thickness over the powder coat at 0.107", so it is likely 0.090" metal thickness. Here are also a few pictures to show where it gets welded and the angle it is at. The bolt in the pictures is just sitting there. It is not welded or brazed to the structure and can be remmoved.

If I were to be putting these on, I would mount the stab and square it to the rudder post and use some means to hold it there. Then mount the struts to the stab with the new tabs mounted on the inboard end. Swing them up into place. Prep the area where they contact the fuselage. Then weld them on.
