I recently purchased my very first Kitfox (super stoked!), and now I have to deal with all the logistics of finding where to store it once I bring it back to Arizona. My first option was to place it in a hangar, but so far I have not been able to find a single hangar available in my area. I've thought about putting it my garage as I have plenty of room for it with the wings folded, but I don't think my insurance covers the transport back and forth from my house to the airport. Plus I would have to get a reliable enclosed trailer which would probably cost upwards of $6-7k (based on some quick searches for 8.5' trailer). My alternative option is to store in an uncovered tiedown until I can find a hangar and cover it completed (wings, engine, tail, fuselage, etc.) with a lot of UV protective covers.

I've looked at Bruce's Custom Covers: https://www.aircraftcovers.com/

Has anyone used their products? Are they good at protecting against the sun and are they easy to put on and remove? How well does it do on the rare occasions that it rains?

I hate putting this outside as it is a nice looking airplane, but I'm out of options for now.

Beautiful plane, I look forward to flying around with you once you get it home. Storing it outside will kill it comes summer/monsoons/hail. I believe you can find hangers at Glendale for reasonable rent and Carfree for crazy rent. At the very least I would park it in a T shade which I think Deer Valley has vacancies.

Beautiful plane, certainly don't see many with a radial engine.

Dave, so far I've gotten no vacancies even at Glendale (I'm still waiting for a few to reply back to me). There are some in Coolidge but right now they're at $400/mo which is more than I can pay for a hangar right now. I'll talk to Deer Valley about the T-Shades. That would be a good alternative and they aren't too expensive.

Deer Valley small hanger wait is about 10 months at this point.

Go to the next local EAA Chapter meeting and ask if anyone has room in their hangar for your Kitfox with wings folded.

I had these made from Bruce’s. They should have the pattern for the R2800.
Expect water to enter the distributor caps if it rains when engine not covered while parked, due to the angle of the engine.

Hi. Where did you finally find a place to keep your KF. We met at Murle's recently when you two were working on your rudder pedals.
