Matco WHLT-8WD - Who is using one?

I'm about to swap out my nose wheel for a tailwheel. I'm seriously considering a Matco WHLT-8WD tailwheel on a AK T3 tailwheel spring. My mains will be 21" Dresser tires. Is anybody running this setup and are you happy with it? http://www.matcomfg.com/TAILWHEELDUALFORK8PNEU-idv-3727-70.html

I'm using the WHLT-8LD which is the light weight, narrower version (5.4# vs 8.3#) with a T3 spring assembly. 22" Desser tundra tires. I like it very much for the kind of flying I do, but the wide one would be a better choice for really soft ground of course. The tailwheel works fine, and the lighter weight is better for my CG.

I hear you Andy but I'll probably never fly where I really NEED an ABW3200 and it is a bunch more money that the Matco choices.

I have used two Matco tailwheels, the 8LD and the 8D which is the one currently in use. The 8D has a more common tire tube size if you have a flat. I run the desser 8.50-6 smoothies on the mains.
Happy with the Matco setups.

I use it with a T3... really like it, but have no other experience with any others except the stock wheel and spring (hated it).

I just got off the phone with the Kitfox mother ship. They share a story and I and ordered the T3 spring and an ABI3224 tailwheel. I think I made a good choice.

I have this tail wheel on my 4 with the T-3. I also have the 27.5 front wheels along with the grove gear. really balances out things and has a good nose high for the rear setup. if you don't have the big tires up front I don't think you will like it so much. simply put, I love it

The spending spree continues. I also ordered a set of 21" Desser smoothies. It's going to be Christmas a few weeks early for me.
