There seems to be a lot of back and forth advice on coolant. Specific brands were recommended then discontinued. 50/50 mix was allowed then maybe not. Service Instructions / Bulletins were issued then supplemented.

It looks like the latest information I can find on the 912 UL says to use Evans Aero Cool 180. There doesn’t seem to be a good on-line source for this in the US.

I’m looking for the simple answer. Are US 912 UL owners buying Aero Cool from overseas or are you using other locally available brands allowed and recommended by Rotax?

Thanks.

Of course I searched the threads before I posted my question and of course right after I posted it I found a thread where a dozen members recommended Dex-Cool. Any brand of Dex-Cool Orange will do?

Dexcool (GM orange) coolant has been the recommendation from Rotax since day 1. All the brands are the same.

Evans waterless coolant has fallen away from recommendation because the engine runs hotter and it is difficult to procure.

What is the coolant capacity of the 912ULS?
Will removing the plug on radiator drain all fluid and is a flush required? "Yellow Kitfox"

My 912iS holds less than 1 gallon. I just bought the 50/50 blend. I believe I ended up with about 1/4 of it left maybe a little less.

We drained via the plug. Refilled a little. Turned the prop to circulate the old coolant. Drained again. Then filled.

The maintenance manual says to remove the bottom ss bolt from the water pump outlet housing to completely drain the system. I never do; just drain the radiator plug and then flush with a garden hose, then refill with new.
