What are you all putting in the joggle between the cowls, if anything? Ive started to see some paint dust and rubbing where the cowls meet the boot cowl. Currently I dont have any foam or anything between the two. Im thinking a foam tape like on the butt ribs might help.

Not cheap. Aircraft Spruce sells 1" wide anti chafe tape. I put it on after the paint wore through.

I also used the ACS 1"wide anti-chafe tape. I believe its Teflon. Sticks real good and totally eliminated the chafe problem.

Y’all want to sell the rest of your roll?

I will look to see if I have enough. I don't think so but I will look. It is not a large roll from the start.

This is a pretty old but useful thread.

Seeing the price for a 6' roll of the Teflon tape from Aircraft Spruce, I poked around and found "TapeCase 423-10 UHMW Polyethylene Tape" on Amazon for a quarter of the the price. Not a recommendation since I don't know the product. Polyethylene rope rots with constant exposure to sunlight, but this will be between cowling pieces and my plane will be hangered.

I too used the anti chaffe teflon tape. Stuck it on right after I painted the cowling and no issues with wear.
