Trying to fit the oil tank in the recess of the firewall as described in the install manual, but it hits the rear engine cover and is very tight in the box. Looks like others have experienced the same thing based on the forum posts below. I contacted Dawley Aviation about performing the modification. They mentioned that they would be happy to do it, but that they do not have any information on the mods; the info was provided by the customer(s). Does anyone happen to have a drawing/sketch? I asked Kitfox and they don't have any information.

No drawings were used in the modifications to mine. I believe that they removed approximately 1/2 inch in height from the oil tank outer wall, at the point in the side wall where it pulled away from the vertical to make the curve at the bottom. No mods were made to anything in the tank interior. They did a beautiful job in the cutting and welding... outstanding craftsmanship.

I received my oil tank back from the welder. It is nice living by a racing city, plenty of great trade shops nearby. Ended up costing $125, and am very happy with the results.
