Hey all!

I have recently been lucky enough to have brought a real nice series 5 that had a minor mishap. It suffered a ground loop at 750tt and i have started the repairs. Repairs will include 2 new ribs on LH wing, tailwheel attach area weld/tube repairs as this area was torn off, 2 new wing tips, new set of groves (was the old 2024) new LH flaparon and few other minor parts. I am Waiting on a order from Deb and John including Laker LE, Smoke system, new header tank, flaparon ect. New gear and tyres fitted, weld repairs on tail done and ready for fabric. Aircraft to be painted all rancho silver with black attachments. I am in the process of saving weight as it was a heavy one! I will be running a new WW Stol 75 in place of the busted CS Cap 140 prop. Follow along as i get this bird back in the air! James 22933229342293522936229372293822939229402294122942 229432294422945229462294722948

Nice find and some impressive repairs James. Good to have your new bird go on a diet and shed some lbs. I agree with your propeller solution.

Looking forward to the day it's fully mission capable! :D

All the best!

Is anything from the CAP140 still useable?
What are you doing with it?

I could use it for spareparts if you don't need it anymore!!

Received some more goodies in the mail today. Matco 9inch dual fork. very impressed with the quality and weight. I did look at getting the tundra lite but price and purchase difficulties internationally made me go matco. more parts arriving soon from the great team at Kitfox:) 2295422955

This past weekend i recovered all the tail repairs in preparation for respray. I will be doing a full respray over the old scheme. i have spoken to various fabric experts and stits themselves with the conclusion that a rub with 400 and re UV air frame followed by colour will be more then sufficient in regards to adhesion and quality. 229782297922980

Will be good to see another KF in the circuit in Aus somewhere when I finally get mine up and running. Looks like some nice repairs you’re doing.

Thanks David! I’m only up at Albury. Plenty of good country up here to play in! You, myself and Ben should catch up when we all up and running!

This week I’ve managed to get a new prop. I was looking at the WW 75” but my mate with a highlander had this new 76inch Kiev I couldn’t refuse!! Very happy with it so far. Cannot wait to fly behind it. 23043

Received some more goodies from the kitfox team. I am doing away with the old plastic header tank and have installed the new aluminium series 7 tank. I have also received fuel return kit and a smoke system:D Due to how awesome these planes are I won’t receive my LLE, wing tips ect till late November. 23099

Looks like some serious restoration happening with your build. Only way to do it. The LLE and welded al. alloy header tank are good additions. Also, recommend you stiffen the trailing edge of the wing, if not already done, so when you shrink the fabric you don't get any bowing. That shrinkage of around 10% for 350F (I used poly fibre) caused an issue for me in couple of areas. Had to redo.
