For twelve years I’ve had really good luck with the PC680 battery up until about two years ago. Now they’ve become unreliable and I can no longer count on them like I used to. Dangit!

I would like to retain the same battery box with 7.5x3x6.65 L/W/H. In the Cessna it can be a bit wider than 3” but not more than 4”.

Little help please? LiPo? Better gel? ...?

thx,
jon

EarthX. Better starts, lots less weight. Click on their advert at the top of every page and spend a little time on their site. You’ll learn a lot in a short time about the latest battery technology.

I bought a Scorpion Sealed for my airplane about 5 years ago, it still starts the plane
better than my previous PC-680 ever did, and cost a lot less. I believe the one I bought was
listed for a Harley, or BMW. my airplane has an IO-240B which is probably the number 1
Battery killing Kitfox Engine.

People do mention EarthX a lot ... But being married, and $$$ conscious, and not wanting to
get divorced over a battery I bought the Scorpion.

are you referring to the LTX680? Or C680?

I think I’ll try both the EarthX ltx680 in one plane and the Scorpion sst51913 in another. The pc680 in my Kitfox is still ok but just ok.

Pirep after awhile.
