The Southern Pacific locomotive #4449 is the world's most famous steam engine - it pulled an equally famous West Coast train called the "Daylight" between Los Angeles and San Francisco during the 30's, 40's, and 50's.
The 4449 is still operating, now under the care of the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation, and is used to pull excursion trains the foundation uses for fundraising.
Because both the train and the plane are hobbies of mine, and because both the locomotive and the plane have that classic look, I had my plane renumbered to N4449 and painted in colors that match the steam engine.
