Does anyone know a reasonable place to buy an insulated engine cover or have one for sale?

You could use an old sleeping bag or quilt.

Good Idea but I have to park next to these cubs with the custom covers
Try Bruce's Custom Covers.

prices have gotten pretty bad $500 now
That's why I mentioned the budget options. Harbor Freight has several blankets for under $10. I personally am using an old sleeping bag and cut some repurposed foam pieces to plug the cowling holes. Total out of pocket was zero. I use these with a $5 (garage sale) ceramic box heater with a flexible drier hose and tube. Might have $15 into all of this.
It's up to you to decide how much you want to spend, and who you are trying to impress. $500 is a lot of gas for flying.

Phil,
Almost looks like you wrote my method! There are a lot of things that are essentially insulating blankets that can be salvaged and used for this purpose - and a person won't feel bad about getting a drop or two of oil on. I maybe went a bit overboard since I spent a total of $15 for a milk parlor heater with a $5 flex dryer hose to go along with my salvaged insulating pad. Has worked fine.

You could have a really nice brand new car parked next to your KF with the money you saved by not buying a CC
