Harlan's One Year Anniversary post (and, congrats Harland) made me want to post a video but I sure didn't want to hijack his. But - first there is a story behind the video (isn't there always?) and that's the important part - otherwise someone might think this is about me and I sure don't want that to be the case.

Some time ago I got a call from a friend stuck in California and he was about to miss a commitment with the daughter of one of his best friends. He had agreed to be the subject of an interview she had been asked to do as part of the interview process for a videographer job with the AOPA. "Would I fill in for him?" was purpose of his call. Sure, why not.

Not knowing what to expect, we agreed to meet at my hangar and she would let me know what it was all about. That is not the whole story though. It was a case of this young lady represents a side of the younger generation that gives me hope . . . . not like the experiences I have with some of the younger generation I meet when paying at check out counters across the city. Smart, respectful, talented, poised, etc., etc., etc., The really good news? She got the job and we can all say hello at Oshkosh.
