I folks,
I am wondering where you stopped the aluminum close outs at the rudder post. Did you bring it back to be flush with the fiberglass fairing rudder post or stop it before the edge for some reason I may not see?

Mine ends at the aft edge. I just left it that way as it didn't require that I cut it.

I also let my closeout come nearly to the aft edge of the rudder post fairing. That way I could put a couple of screws thru the closeout and into the fairing; however I reinforced the fairing by Hysoling a thin strip of aluminum to the backside of the fairing to give the screws something solid to bite into.

I brought mine back over the fiberglass also, and used a couple of Tinnerman clip-nuts on the fiberglass for the screws.

Thank you guys, I was thinking of trimming it flush with the rudder post so this confirms I am on the right track.
