I'm just speaking for myself, but my SS7 took 2200 hours start to finish and I logged all my time, even time spent thinking and figuring. I did NOT use quick build wings, which added about 500 hours to my build time.

I didnt keep a log of hours but it took me 2 years from starting. I didnt work on it full time but in bursts between work and trips away. I think JIm's estimtae is pretty realistic as a starter BUT it will vary according to experience and knowledge - Jim is a retired engineer - I have no technical training nor experience apart from DIY experience so it would have taken me longer. Having said that, the likes of Jim and others on this site are very generous with the expertise and without that, it would have taken a lot longer.

    cheers

Up to you of course, but the excellent Kitfox build manual, coupled iwth factory support and the support on this site, makes it very easy if you have even have only a basic level of workshop skills and tools. And you learn a lot along the way !

That is a Pretty Piece of Paper, hurry up and wait for a piece of paper from a Government worker. The Wright Brothers didn’t have a piece of paper that held up their progress.
Now go have some fun and see if it really is an Airplane.

Too funny Phil!! We really are on a very similar timeline! I think you may go up in the air before me though - so all the very best for it! Gayle and I are up in Bali at the moment, and as I mentioned , every time I look at an Indo flag I think of you and that wonderful paint scheme!

    go well.
