You asked about a wood framework to hold the front of the fuselage while you recover it, here is what I've done. This is on an Avid Flyer, but the Kitfox is pretty much the same. The two upper horizontal boards bolt to the motor mount bolt locations, the other boards are screwed to those two boards. Jim Chuk
PS when I went to load the picture I found the one of my Kitfox 4 also. I had just stuck the landing gear on temporarily so I could move it around in this picture

Getting there Josh! Those camlocks are going to slow you down a bit hanging out like that though - don't you think?!

Haha! I figured it made drilling the #40s a little easier. Hopefully when I flip them around, the holes are all still perfectly lined up.

My Fuselage Mount, 3/4" plywood bolted to the firewall area that allows rotation to have any of the 4 sides up.

I used a piece of plywood large enough to go upside down without the top of the cabin touching. I also trimmed the corners, which made it very easy to flip by myself. I think it was 4' x 4'.

Thanks for the pictures everyone. I went with a 2X4 frame up front and hung the tail from the ceiling in a basket. It makes it easy to rotate by myself as I didn't put my legs on the front at the outside so when I roll it, it kind of goes to a 45 degree, and then a 90.

I finished prepping the bottom of the fuselage. A few things needed attention that I never noticed when it was right side up like sharp hysol points.

Natalie and I are off to Vancouver for a few days to visit some friends and celebrate our 3rd anniversary so no work on the plane til the weekend.



The sawhorse is so I can adjust the strap.
