Productive weekend again. Fuel flow transducer mounted below passengers seat, rest of cooling system and oil system plumbing finished.
Ordered a fuel return line one way check valve from Kitfox Aircraft so fuselage part of fuel system will soon be completed.
Panel surround propped up to see approximately how it might look.
Panel surround was made by DesertFox1.
MGL-Lite will occupy the left third of the panel. MGL V6 radio and my Garmin Aera 500 will live in the raised center avionics section along with a transponder for ADS-B out to be named later. Nothing planned for the right side of the panel. Likely my iPad Air 2 will occupy that area.

The seat is a carbon fiber creation. Extremely light weight and very strong. I borrowed it from DF1 to cover up the tubing for these photos. Very nice though. Maybe he won't notice it is missing.

What is the weight savings on the carbon fibre seat pan? I was thinking of doing something similar

Haven't weighed it Josh. I know it must be at least half the weight. It does have a layer of glass on the underside I noticed. No tool boxes though. A really cool piece. It looks like a lot of work went into it and it fits beautifully.

Hey Josh,
The seat weighs just under 5 pounds. It was built a little heavy and has a layer of Kevlar under neath. Only a small weight savings but if you do enough of them they add up. Great fun building these things, huh?

It all adds up! I think I'll get mine flying before I start getting crazy with the CF.

Panel surround work commences.
Making templates for aluminum plates that will go in the left opening and the avionics stack in the center.
First templates were out of heavy paper then out of thin black plastic then aluminum. The aluminum plates will be finished on a CNC machine that will make the cut outs for the EFIS, switches, radio, transponder GPS ect. This system allows fairly quick changes if the panel needs to evolve in the future and is light weight.
