    Default Insurance

I don't have any experience with aircraft insurance at all and would to get some on this airplane. Does anyone have any druthers as to which company and whether Kit Fox has an "in" with some corp.

    Thanks,

    Falcon 830-257-1000

They do a lot of business with EAA members and are comfortable with all the experimental planes ... and some of the older classics ... that I've had.

I agree with DAT, the EAA (FDalcon) insurance was the best deal for me after shopping around. I am a new Sport pilot flying an E/AB SS7 taildragger, so I did not find too many companies willing to deal with me.

I use http://www.nationair.com as a broker and they placed me with Global last time I renewed.

Get ready to get out the big checkbook. I just renewed with Falcon. (They were the cheapest) $1487 for full coverage with 28 k hull. Ouch! I have about 150 hours total with about 100 in tailwheel. I was told that 250 hours is the magic number to get a little cheaper insurance.

That is so true in many aspects of life!

Yes. It is for Sport pilot license. She said a private certificate would lower it slightly. I think "slightly" is insurance lingo for $4.99. I am going to go ahead and get my private ticket anyway because every little bit helps.
