Default Avisport Rotax 912 Tachometer Problems

Has anyone ran into problems with the Avisport 3 1/8 Tach and hour meter combo or the 3 1/8 tach only? We have had to replace 2 of the tach and hourmeter combo now with less than 10 hours on them. They just stop working. So we got just a regular Avisport 3 1/8 tach and the it doesn't work very well. Its sluggish and when you shut of the plane the needle stays at 200 RPM. Is there a better brand of Tach to use with the Rotax 912?

I have a UMA tach on my 912ULS. works fine. Can be purchased thru Aircraft Spruce and it has the proper markings.

    Doug,

I also have the UMA gauge - it's smaller than the standard 3 1/8". The unit has worked flawlessly since I started flying the plane (2008). It also has a tap on the back to connect to a standard Hobbs - The hobbs shuts down with the engine.

Photo attached - hobbs is directly below the tach.

    Sincerely,

    Dave S
