Default Oz build SS7 - the ribs

Thanks for the replies guys - yes, the fridge is well used! summer is starting and we have bad bush fires all around Sydney at the moment.

Now the ribs. first go at working with the Hysol although we have built a 40ft yacht before and have had a bit of experience at handling expoxy etc. We use a lot of marking tape! The syringes are useful but have read a lot of comments of peoples improvisations and will try a few. We found the ribs to need a bit of trimming and the little bandsaw was great for that. You will also see in one of the photos that we have elderly advisor - that is our friend Noel who is about to turn 102 yo!

Off to a great start there Rosslr.
I see you mastered multiple photos per post very quickly.
    Good on ya.

Great looking (clean) hangar to work in. Very nice.

Well Pilot, I think our friend Noel might be putting the pressure on! But he is a fine guy and loves to tinker - we bring him to the hanger ever few days and he loves it. He was a very fine artist in his time too but eyesight has failed him somewhat - good for us or I'm not sure I would cope with the fine detail critique!

And thanks for the comment DF4 - yes, the multiple photo process is slow but manageable. We are up to the control system now so there are a few posts to catch up - time! Tell me if this stuff is of not use/interest. I'm just put money in the bank for now - prepare for the Q's to come very soon!

    cheers

Hey Rosslr, looking good. My epoxy fillets looked like crap when I started. Definitely off to a good start. Keep posting the pictures. There can never be enough.

Default Oz build SS7- RS and Elevators fitted

Thanks Esser for the comments. the RS and elevator is now on! all went well although it took a bit of getting the 6 attachment points for the elevator to align.

Ross and Gayle, First off you are to be commended for choosing the Kitfox for your project. They are great kits and soooo much fun to fly. It sure looks like you are doing it right with the nice hanger to work in and the great help (WOW 102yrs.) it takes friends and extra hands once in a while. Keep up the posts and God Speed on the build.
