Butt ribs installed, tanks installed, most tank stand offs bonded in place, jury struts positioned and attach brackets and clamps installed. Half of the wing tip attach strips installed. Other half will go in when we can flip the wings over.
Flapperon rib tail reinforcements installed, trailing edge pieces installed, false ribs partially installed. Flapperon control horns assembled, rigged and installed temporarily, flapperons trailing edges riveted, flapperon brackets prepped and the big event, flapperons installed temporarily. It was a big 3 day weekend at the "Skunk Works". Lots of progress made thanks to Phil keeping me on track and planning my next three tasks. Lots and lots of drilling and swapping of batteries on 3 different drills.

Now four days off for work and I can't wait to get back at it next weekend.
Did I mention how nice those factory quick build wings look?

Crap when you put in high gear, you don't slow down! I guess now that you and the Canadian Nirm put your Guitars in the Guitar Stands, a gave up on the the Hanger R&R band, you decided to get on with the Program. It is Definately Looking great!

Wow, Steve! It seems like if you know what you're doing, and have some experienced help, you could finish one of these things in the blink of an eye! Just think if you were retired! Man, it makes me ashamed of my snail-like pace. Lookin' good!!

I'm beginning to think Steve is in WARP speed. I am totally surprised how fast he is moving on the project.

It's all about putting the time in guys. Seems like mine are mini marathons all wrapped up in weekends or if fortunate 3 day weekends. I'm pleasantly surprised to rediscover how much fun building a Kitfox can be. It 's been 12 years plus since my first after all.

So, you going to fly it up with the rest of the crew for Airventure this year?

Sadly, no. Will not make AirVenture this year, with or without the 7 SS.

Missed a weekend of building due to strep throat last week. Feeling much better now so back to building. Phil and I removed the flaperons, stored them for safe keeping, removed the wings and put them upside down on saw horses. Easier to finish off the bottom wing tip mounting strips, fuel tank rib standoffs and false rib for the fuel tanks. Bonded in a couple ribs before calling it a day. Phil and I policed up the shop a little.
Norm stopped by today with another Canadian aviator and guitar picker, Royal. Royal got away before I could get my camera out get a mug shot but I did manage to catch Norm as he helped me rivet the wingtip strips to their permanent home. Thanks again Norm and thanks for the In-N-Out hamburger and fries to keep me going.

    Very nice progress.
It appears you could have consumed the In-N-Out hamburger and fries from the floor.
