    Default Tinted lexan

Has anybody used Duratrax window tint lexan spray paint or a similar product?
I am considering using it on the lexan portion of my turtle deck.
It is primarily used in the RC world for painting or tinting lexan. The darkness of the tint is controlled by the amount of product applied.

I'm in the auto glass business. I've seen similar products used in the automotive world. It is nearly impossible to spray this evenly. Uneven overspray of passes will cause "tiger stripes" of coloring in the tint.

I can almost guarantee this will not look very good when you are done.

Why not get a piece of colored lexan for your turtledeck?

I would like to build a 2 piece custom turtledeck which includes bending the lexan on a brake. I have been unable to locate any .060 tinted lexan. The 1/8" is about as thin as I have been able to find. I am always trying to keep the wight down.

Try Laird Plastics. They have a facility here in Arden Hills (North end of STP) and next closest is Madison area (DeForest). They sell tinted polycarbonate in several light transmission grades, and yes, they carry .060 :-) Hope that helps....
