    Default Installing Pull Start

    Hey Guys,

How have guys run the pull cord in general?

I'm converting my engine to a pull start. Looking for some pictures and/or advice on how to brace the pull cord strongly. The rope will enter the cockpit through the firewall. Getting it through the firewall is no problem.

Any pictures of a pull start install on KF 1-3's?

The reason is that I have a clutch installed and the starter is heavy.
I've always pull started my Rotax and find it to work very well.
Removing the starter reduces the weight by 6 lbs and removes the dependence on the starter.
With a clutch you can't start the engine with the prop anyways.
