    Default Model IV upgrades

On some of the other forums I belong to I used to find it interesting following some of the mods other owners would do- and it was kind of fun documenting the changes. With that said, I figured I would start mine here.(if there is another place for this please let me know)

I bought this model 4 locally from the original owner, my plan is to upgrade the panel and put it on floats. I also want to upgrade the gear, and do some other things along the way. I am wide open to suggestion, and am really looking forward to learn from you guys

Current thoughts are Skyview with autopilot, grove gear with bush tires, and once again floats. Are the Zenair the best way to go? Thoughts? Opinions?

    Thanks guys-

Also it is a 80 hp Rotax with a warp drive prop.

With all the graphics removed- quite a process took about ten hours to get all the crap off-

Those graphics look similar to the Idaho license plate graphics. Wonder if the PO had ties to Idaho or just liked the look. At one time Idaho won a national award for those graphics.

Good luck with your new bird.

The original owner used it as a prop for his election bid for Lt. Governor for Idaho- so I think the license plate was a big part of it. From what I can tell it really hasn't flown much as it only has 145 hours on it. The builder, Jim Robinson, did a outstanding job.

First off keep it light the model 4 is a blast if kept light the closer to 600lbs the more fun. The first things I would do is strut fairings and vgs. Big improvements for little cost and not much time to install.

The zenair floats or a set of EDO 1320s. I love the 1320s on my Avid.
